FOR SPRING 2025, LAFAYETTE 148 PRESENTS A COLLECTION INSPIRED BY THE FREEFORM GESTURES, RAW MATERIALITY, CONTOURED SILHOUETTES AND UNBRIDLED AESTHETICS OF LIFE DRAWING.

Entitled In the Drawing Studio, the Lafayette 148 Spring 2025 collection assembles a sophisticated, exquisitely crafted and versatile range of pared-back and relaxed suiting, seasonal occasionwear, statement knits, and classic white shirting with a twist.

The collection showcases the Lafayette 148 atelier’s masterful skills across print, fringing, tailoring and jacquard, and is crafted using the finest lightweight fabrics and materials to reflect the seasonal shift towards spring’s warmer climes—linens, silks, poplin cottons, sheer organza and micro-fine leather. And with a palette that recalls charcoal shades, light pastel chalk hues, and the raw textured tones of drawing paper—off-whites, greys and blues—each garment subtly evokes the gestures, materials, silhouettes, markings and rituals associated with the timeless art of Life Drawing.

“I was drawn back to fond memories of attending life-drawing sessions in a small SoHo studio, in the neighborhood where Lafayette 148 was founded. For me, the act of sketching is a raw and unbridled experience. This was our starting point for Spring 2025: translating the pared-back gestures and aesthetics of life drawing into a modern, versatile collection, through the lens of our understated, New York aesthetic. From contoured silhouettes to smudged charcoal prints and pastel dust textures, the collection explores both the craftsmanship and beauty that comes from capturing the human body in its purest form.”
