The Project Manager, Store Planning will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of specific architectural projects for shop concepts. He/she primary focus will be conception of design layout to construction, workflow for outside consultants (architects), documentation, budget, schedules/deadlines, construction mandates and supervision of the entire process to final delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of concept guidelines and plans with Director, Store Planning for architectural projects
  • Spearhead the design development of the shop concept, from initial research (location, budgeting and timing) to project execution
  • Tracks and monitors the completion of all projects on a timely basis within budget
  • Supervise and manage the scheduling of all cross-functional teams (Engineers, Architects, Millworkers, General Contractors, etc.) to ensure initiatives meet corporate procedures and guidelines
  • Participate in site meetings with suppliers and vendors of all project phases
  • Quality check and review project contracts, shop-drawings, and project plans from external agencies to ensure consistence proposal concepts from submission to construction
  • Prepare cost reports and regularly update, to track spending
  • Record-keeping for project completions, manage archives storage and finalize financial budget

 

Desired Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design

 

Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant design, planning and construction experience within the retail industry with 5+ years as Project Manager

 

Skills:

  • Candidates must possess an eye to curate a high-end specialty store design and the ability to turn concepts into action
  • Essential that the candidate read and interpret architectural drawings; must have the ability to comprehend and produce construction sets, mill-working, MEP design and lighting design
  • Understanding of creative components, cycle times, production and distribution of project phases
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, with minimal direction, within a team environment and independently.
  • Must have a proactive work ethic with excellent time management and be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills; he/she should be very systematic and comprehensive in all responsibilities/accountabilities of the job
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask so to quickly shift gears from creative to management mode daily
  • Computer Skills: Strong AutoCAD 2D/3D, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Smartsheet programs, and additional Adobe Creative and Office Suite programs
  • Travel (20%-25%) to various construction site to ensure directives/priorities and identify any outstanding issues
