KAREN PITTMAN:
CONNECTING THREADS
Emmy, SAG and Critics Choice-nominated actor and producer Karen Pittman joyfully brings to life the Fall 2025 collection in her first campaign for the House, exploring the art form of acting as a powerful medium for crafting common ground and making change.
From Mia Jordan on AppleTV+’s acclaimed series The Morning Show to Dawn Edwards on Netflix’s latest hit Forever, Karen Pittman’s exquisite portrayal of powerful, accomplishing women through a nuanced combination of strength, rawness and fragility is a testament to her philosophy of acting as a communal experience, rooted in storytelling’s power to heal and connect.
“As an artist, our job is to show areas where we have common ground. We don’t see enough of that in the world. What I do as an actor can be a balm for those people who are watching it—either by making them laugh or making them feel or making them cry. It can be a powerful medium for change,” the actor tells Lafayette 148. A study in elegance, intellect and modern femininity, Karen embodies the confidence, sophistication and quiet strength at the heart of Lafayette 148.
ON TRUSTING HER INSTINCTS
“I tend to walk to the beat of my own drum. I don’t take a lot of advice. That’s part of the problem sometimes. But it’s also part of the thing that has made my journey so authentically mine. I’ve spent most of my life with people telling me, “You’re not gonna be able to do that.” And every time I have followed my own heart, gone the direction that I felt like I needed to go, it’s been correct.
ON PERSONAL STYLE
“I’ve always been the kind of person who really loves something soft, something classic and timeless. It has to be something where when I walk in the room, I move the needle a little bit—even just for a second. ‘Where’s that from?’ That is a question I love to get.”
In September, Karen returns as powerhouse producer Mia Jordan on The Morning Show’s much-anticipated fourth season, and continues to feel the lasting impact of this famously women-led series—both on camera and behind the scenes. “It is actually the most inclusive space I’ve ever been in, where not only is it important that you speak up as a human being, but also as a woman—about things you think are important, about ideas you want to bring to the table,” says the actor. “I am truly fortunate by being around all of these women who have not just forged a place for themselves in this streaming streets—because it’s not easy—but also they’ve forged a place for me, forged a place for all of the women who work on the show. And in a lot of ways, historically, for women, who are doing what they hope to do. It has been so powerful.”
