L148 X STUDIO LILY KWONG
To celebrate the opening of GreenE Street—which also coincides with Lafayette 148’s 25th anniversary—landscape designer Lily Kwong transformed the space with a botanical installation inspired by the Fall 2021 collection.
Utilizing a mix of moss, lush ornamental grasses and plants, she created a series of organic, mossy forms that bring an element of wildness to the store’s modern interior.
The palette of plants was carefully chosen to echo the collection’s colors, from ember oranges to ginger root.
The installation’s tones and textures nod to Fall’s prints, inspired by finding refuge amidst the trees in NYC’s green spaces. It all brings to life L148 Creative Director Emily Smith’s Fall concept, celebrating the intersection of art and nature.
THE BOUTIQUE EVOKES THE SCALE AND LUMINOSITY OF AN ART GALLERY—A nod to L148’S SOHO ORIGINS AND ONGOING DEVOTION TO CRAFT AND HANDWORK IN ITS COLLECTIONS.
The design was a collaboration between Studio Sofield in partnership with Creative Director Emily Smith, with an eye toward innovation and using uncommon materials. Sculptural fixtures are set against terrazzo wood flooring, while touches of glass, bronze, and the original steel columns create the effect of a serene refuge—a soothing space where guests can relax and engage.
Guests can enjoy complimentary tailoring, personal styling, private shopping, and same-day white-glove delivery in NYC, among other exclusive amenities.
The boutique offers Lafayette 148’s full ready-to-wear, footwear, handbags, homeware and jewelry collections. A Murano glass capsule of limited-edition, hand-blown glass vases created for Lafayette 148 is also available for purchase.
