LUCKY SEKHON
OB-GYN & FERTILITY DOCTOR. NEIGHBORHOOD: WILLIAMSBURG.
As a leading fertility specialist, Lucky Sekhon—“Dr. Lucky” to her patients—spends her days guiding women through life’s most personal decisions. Inspired by her own experience and lifelong admiration for the women around her, she approaches medicine as both science and advocacy, empowering women with clarity, confidence and care.
Lucky didn’t set out to enter fertility medicine; the work found her. Raised in a matriarchal family, she was drawn to a field centered on women’s health and the conversations that come with it. “I feel privileged to have these vulnerable conversations with my patients.”
Through her practice, bestselling book The Lucky Egg and widely followed social videos, she brings fertility knowledge into everyday conversation, making it less intimidating and empowering women with information. “Don’t sell yourself short. Always self-advocate.” At home with her daughters, the mission becomes personal: helping the next generation grow up with greater knowledge and agency.
Lucky’s weeks are split between Manhattan workdays and Brooklyn weekends. In Williamsburg, mornings start slower—coffee at home, bagels with her daughters and walks along the waterfront—a necessary counterpoint from the intensity of her work. Lucky is drawn to the neighborhood’s creative energy and sense of balance, where ambition and family life coexist. “There’s a lot happening in New York all the time. The women here wear many different hats and look fabulous while doing it.” In a city defined by movement, she sees women stepping fully into their power—and supporting one another along the way.
