Visual Merchandising Operations Professional

The Visual Merchandising Operations Professional plays a critical role within the Visual Merchandising department and for the functioning of the team at large. This role is the key partner to the Senior VM Director for strategizing all workload needs, ensuring all deliverables are met and coordinates all operational activity within the VM department. This includes proactively scheduling and coordinating activity within the visual calendar and managing all relevant communication and logistics with business partners (including China). This role owns the creation of all visual communication tools/ directives for the field teams and strategizes to ensure all deadlines are met in relation to the business needs. Additional responsibilities of this role include budget tracking and relevant correspondence, fixture roll outs/transferals and logistics in partnership with store design and the retail teams.

The Visual Operations Manager is the key operational support and partner to the Senior VM Director to ensure workflow is managed and pro-actively scheduled to meet the ongoing needs of the business.


  • Visual calendar ownership – coordinates and inputs all relevant activity / dates for VM. (Updated and shared out weekly at kick off)
    • Visual directive timing to execute and format
    • Market milestones dates (showroom set ups/ any key vm activity relating to market)
    • Store rotational flips
    • Store openings
    • Pop up dates / one off events or initiatives
    • Marketing or instore activations that relate to stores/ vm
  • Liaises with relevant business partners to land / coordinate and schedule key calendar meetings as needed. (AD / Wholesale set ups/ rotational flips/ reoccurring business partner TB’s - etc.)
  • Directives – builds / formats all visual directive/ guidelines. Looks for best practice in formatting design and layout for best user ability.

    • One off directive where needed (i.e., in store activations
    • Evergreen directives- i.e. - standards
    • (store rotation decks or vm renderings for one off displays/ initiatives will be owned by VM Manager)
  • Schedules / coordinates all photography contents for all directives.
    • Creates system for photography organization on the server.
    • Coordinates studio/ IT as needed for market/ directive purposes.
    • Handles all communication with the store teams for photo feedback sessions.
  • Strategically plans and preps for building the activation deck in time for market kick off and gathers relevant contents.
  • Posts all communication for stores (directives/ guidelines).
  • Budget tracker ownership – owns and tracks all budget activity including submitting relevant PO’s/ invoice management and communication with relevant vendors/ business partners on any financial administrative work.
  • Facilitates light box imagery approval via Emily and relevant markets.
  • Project manage production operation of store and window propping’s including prop delivery into stores and install schedules.
  • Acts as key contact and partner for store design relating to VM; ordering relevant top of counter for NSO’s or fixture development and roll outs. Handles relevant correspondence for orders.
  • Key contact for all correspondence and coordination with China team.

  • Actively embraces the brand aesthetic to filter vm and any relating visual work to ensure it is brand relevant and meeting the creative direction set by the creative director.
  • Seeks new ways to improve our communication tools to improve the experience for the end user.
  • Brings competitive analysis / ideas on store design/ vm display where relevant for discussion.
  • Build constructive, effective relationships throughout the market and corporate offices to align support for visual merchandising and Lafayette 148 initiatives

  • Ability to travel up to approximately 50%
