SUMMER 2021

Wanderlust was on the mind of Creative Director Emily Smith as she designed Summer 2021. She conjured a utopic paradise where she hopes to find herself come May, a sun-kissed haven with a refreshing simplicity and sense of urban sophistication. It all adds up to a distinctly optimistic collection designed to give us something to look forward to—wherever we may be.
Like Spring, the season reflects Lafayette 148’s shift toward a more sustainable approach, incorporating responsibly sourced fabrics and fibers as well as repurposing excess materials in fresh, novel ways.
A sense of hopefulness is channeled in the collection’s dreamy sense of ease and effortlessness—from breezy, flowing shapes to light-as-air fabrications.
The vibrant, tropical palette conjures a vacation state of mind, with sun-drenched shades of lagoon blue, chili red, Tuscan orange and vibrant persimmon all worn head to toe in a rich ‘column of color.’
A cleansing foundation of neutrals and strong Summer whites balance the season’s brighter hues, evoking a much-needed feeling of calm.
