Sr. Director, Visual Merchandising

The Sr. Director of Visual Merchandising will be responsible for driving, ensuring and upholding appropriately branded environments, visual merchandising presentation and window display. This position will strategically manage and support the day-to-day duties of the department and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of global seasonal and 12 monthly visual guidelines across all Retail, Wholesale, Direct Sales and Corporate spaces
  • Plan and manage timelines, sample coordination, layout and budget
  • Create training schedule for field team and other internal partners
  • Manage the execution of seasonal market setups supporting Creative Director and Operations
  • Travel with field and other internal partners to exchange best practices and ensure that Lafayette 148 New York’s brand vision is executed and upheld
  • Structure reporting system of images and comments to ensure coherent execution of visual directives and identify/provide feedback on opportunities and challenges
  • Develop and manage a strategic Visual Merchandising workflow for new store openings
  • Partner with China Visual Merchandising team to ensure visual standards are met, including semi-annual visits to retail locations in China
  • Collaborate with all creative channels, including Store Design, Art Direction and Marketing, to uphold a visual presentation that reflects Lafayette 148’s elevated brand standard
  • Maintain an active relationship with Buying team to ensure key merchandise is appropriately represented in the sales environment
  • Work with Finance on all budgets for Visual Merchandising
  • Manage store visit schedule: collaborate with Retail, Wholesale and Direct Sales partners on strategic store/site visits
  • Collaborate with Retail, Wholesale, Direct Sales and Corporate partners on summits and other training opportunities
  • Special projects: support all Marketing and Corporate events inclusive of markets, PR events, photo shoots, styling, Field Summit, Retail Summit, Retail and Direct Sales trunk shows, webinars etc.

Desired Background:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (Fine Arts, Marketing, Liberal Arts or Design)

Experience:

  • 14+ years of relevant creative and/or visual experience
  • 6+ year’s management experience

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (30% travel)
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
