The Sales Associate/Key Holder represents the brand image and is responsible for being a product knowledge expert, provide outstanding customer service and identify opportunities for current and potential clients. This individual will be responsible for handling the store’s opening and closing procedures, maintaining store security, balancing the cash drawer and support the store’s shortage awareness program.



  • Establish and maintain a client book to ensure a deep connection with clients and drives repeat business to achieve sales goals
  • Consistently delivers memorable in store experiences to all clients; plans client appointments to maximize results
  • Inform clients on in-store events and new product deliveries to enhance their experience and increase engagement
  • Skilled at using multiple channels of technology to strengthen existing relationships and drive new client acquisition
  • Possess broad range of product knowledge across all categories of the brand, takes initiative to stay informed to maximize selling potential
  • Demonstrate an intimate knowledge of the product line with an ability to address a client’s total wardrobe needs across all categories
  • Inform clients on brand services to ensure they can enjoy all Lafayette 148 has to offer
  • Always puts the client first when resolving issues, exceeding expectations and provides consistent follow up correspondence
  • Support the operational functions within the store, operational functions may include: opening/ closing procedures, inventory, and daily revenue reporting
  • Maintains security codes (access to secure information, alarm system, safe and administrative codes) within the store to ensure safety of customers, colleagues, and merchandise
  • Follow opening and closing store procedures (disarm or reset alarm system, ensure store is clean, presentable & organized, and cash drawer is counted)
  • Balance cash drawer and log any cash drops - report any discrepancies in cash or missing credit card receipts

Desired Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in fashion (preference is given to juniors and seniors)
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • 3-5+ years’ experience of premium to luxury selling environment
  • Existing client base/ book preferred
  • Ability to handle all service experiences in a positive and customer centric manner
  • Strong customer service and communication (verbal and writing) skills
  • Proficiency in utilizing available technology
  • Must be flexible and have the ability work evenings, weekends and holiday schedules
  • Team player and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
  • Knowledge and use of digital selling through emails, pictures, and look books
  • Must be self-motivated and detail/results oriented
