The Production Pattern Maker will develop and create patterns for the manufacture of different garment types. This individual will interpret the design requirement specifications, create patterns to specifications and adjust for fit and proper construction, while ensuring design and style are maintained through the process and production patterns are provided on schedule.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Convert first patterns to production patterns (i.e. jackets, blouses, dresses, pants and skirts)
  • Provide guidance and direction to sample cutters/sewers and Technical Design team
  • Issue patterns, samples, finish measurements and construction details
  • Participate in fit sessions with fit models; identify and solve any fit/balance problems with the garment
  • Convert missy patterns to large and petite sizes
  • Occasionally develop first pattern or sample
  • Provide assistance to Development as needed
  • Other projects and/or duties as needed

 

Desired Background:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree

 

Experience:

  • Experience with Gerber Accumark system or similar program, preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years’ solid work experience making production patterns in contemporary or high-end fashion

  • A careful eye for detail in design
  • Collaborative work style, with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to seamlessly manage multiple projects at once
  • Team player and able to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure deadlines are met
  • Solid knowledge of garment construction based on fabric, how fabric behavior affects overall
  • garment fit and appearance
  • Ability to develop methods to achieve the proper finishing techniques
  • Bilingual in Cantonese and/or Mandarin helpful
