The Junior Digital Designer (In-house Freelance) will support the Design team. He/she will work on a variety of digital assets from development to execution to produce on-brand marketing materials across website, emails, digital advertising and social media platforms. He/she will should have a deep working knowledge of direct response strategies and design principles and be able to design within the brand’s identity and maintain consistency of design across each project.
This in-house assignment (up to 40-hours per week) will consist of a 5-day work schedule in our NYO until the move to our new headquarters office in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, anticipated to occur in July 2018.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare digital files for web, including optimization, slicing, and delivery
- Crop and resize imagery for use across all digital channels
- Layout website content within our new site launch templates, including banners, content blocks, and landing pages
- Fulfill digital advertising needs including display banners, image carousels, and link ads
- Design emails and email banners
- Create animated gifs and selling tools
- Be a brand guardian by maintaining brand voice and guidelines across all assets
- Collaborate closely cross-functionally with other teams
- Provide support with research, swiping, concepts, mock-ups and presentations
- Stay abreast of new design trends, functionalities, best practices, and competitor work
- Adherence to project calendars
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic Design or equivalent from an accredited college
- 3+ years’ experience in design experience
- Must have a strong ability to design with a fashion/luxury aesthetic
- Ability to manage expectations, set deadlines and follow up on projects with a strong sense of urgency
- Clean, sophisticated, and modern creative aesthetic
- Experience with moving graphics and big plus
- Demonstrate understanding of website usability/web optimization
- Ability to translate business needs into visually beautiful and compelling experiences
- Ability to take creative feedback and execute updates quickly and seamlessly
- Must have a working knowledge of capabilities and best practices across desktop and mobile environments
- Must be extremely detail-focused
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced creative environment
- Must be a team player and be able to interact across departmental divisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic and energetic demeanor to help foster an upbeat working environment
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud
