HRIS and Payroll Specialist

The HRIS & Payroll Specialist will act as the subject matter expert for data, system, and business configuration as well as all reporting. The Specialist will also be able to assist with implementing, managing, and improving all HR functions within the HRIS system. The Specialist will support the payroll team in weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing for both our Corporate and Retail/Field employees. The Specialist will also be responsible for calculating, auditing and processing monthly and bi-monthly commissions for our Retail Stylists, Atelier Direct Stylist and Customer Care Center Stylists by working closely with Store Operations and Finance.

HRIS Responsibilities:

  • Front-line support for all HRIS based maintenance such as but not limited to creating positions, processing orgs changes, adding new locations / departments, etc.
  • Serve as a point of contact for managers and employees for questions and problems relating to the HRIS system (UKGPro) and employee data, including system password, resets, and access assistance.
  • Responsible for the data integrity in UKG; this includes entering new hires, terminations, compensation changes, transfers, etc.
  • Provides ad-hoc, standard and complex reporting of employee information as requested, and supports Federal, State, and Local Government reporting requirements using the Business Intelligence (BI) tool.
  • Coordinates and implements the resolution of technical issues or problems related to HRIS.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, and maintain security roles and rights across all modules (e.g. Employee set up, design, problem solving).
  • Responsible for investigating data errors and correcting them as appropriate to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop, implement and document the procedures required to execute human resources/payroll processes.
  • Assist in the development of standard and custom reports, real-time dashboards or deliver ad-hoc reports, based on requests and business requirements.

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Act as payroll backup to our Payroll Manager, learning the payroll process and supporting time sheet administration, sales commissions, pre-payroll reporting, post-payroll reporting, and addressing employee questions, while also ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations.
  • Administration of the timekeeping systems for non-exempt employees including review of submitted data for completeness, accuracy, and proper manager approval.
  • Assist in the administration of all aspects of sales commission plans for the company
  • Maintain commission database, including all entries and maintenance of data
  • Perform complex analysis of commission issues and develop potential solutions
  • Partner with Retail, Finance and Payroll teams to process commission payments accurately and timely
  • Build strong internal and external business relationships
  • Provide proper explanations to questions from Retail Management, Finance and other stakeholders
  • Partner with Payroll team to process pay corrections and adjustments as needed
  • Develop recommendations to further automate and improve the commission process

Desired Background:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience may be substituted or combined with education.
  • UltiPro/UKG HRIS experience required
  • 2+ years of Payroll and Reporting experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with HRIS system administration, maintenance, and reporting
  • Experience with BI reporting and analysis required
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll related laws and regulations
  • Retail Commissions experience preferred
