E-Commerce Site Merchandising Manager

The eCommerce Site Merchandising Manager will oversee the online product merchandising and manage regular content and product updates. They are responsible for conveying a consistent brand image with user experience in mind, to encourage traffic and sales on the site. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Buying to ensure product alignment with catalog & retail, Director of eCommerce Operations for optimized efficiency and user experience, and Director of Content to execute branding stories and company information. The Manager will supervise a Junior Site Merchant who writes product copy and assists with site merchandising tasks.


  • Point of connection between Buying, Asset Management & China Technology team for timely go-live dates of new product arrivals; QA prior to release date
  • Support SEO optimization of website; partner with digital marketing agency on relevant seasonal search terms.
  • Based on catalog and marketing messages, partner with Directors of Buying and Content to select product for impactful e-mail messages that drive sales and brand message
  • Curate products in CLPs and PLPs to engage customer through e-mails and site visits
  • Work collaboratively with internal Creative & Content teams, to ensure assets required for regular story telling are effective and relevant for the site
  • Manage the third-party partners and technologies that power our site product suggestions and leverage them effectively to drive increased sales.  Build complete outfits for suggestions that effectively increase UPTs
  • Partner with internal digital marketing to ensure campaigns are maximized on the site
  • Ad hoc reporting and competitive research for new initiatives
  • Main point of contact for Customer Care Center, to resolve product/ site issues
  • Monthly site update and product release training for Customer Care Center
  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Junior Site Merchant


Desired Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • 10+ years or relevant experience; preferably in premium or luxury brand eCommerce site merchandising


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess a proactive work ethic, able to work independently
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally; come up with solutions when needed
  • Ability to multi-task while achieving all deadlines
  • Be flexible and able to work and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide strong leadership to direct reports and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Web Platforms, (such as Magento), CMS, Web Analytics Tools (such as Google Analytics), basic understanding of HTML / CSS, and User Experience (UX)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to learn Inventory Management and sales systems
  • Ability to travel to seminars
