Director, Production is responsible to lead the execution of daily tasks within the department, while developing key strategic solutions to optimize the purchasing approach and optimize order fulfillment. He/she will collaborate with senior management to distribute an annual and seasonal manufacturing plan to our overseas facility. This position will be responsible in both balance the factory’s workload and accomplish on-time customer order fulfillment levels. This individual will establish and implement key department initiatives and is accountable in the development of all team members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the supply chain from delivery, including purchasing of raw materials, costing, order management/ fulfillment, EDI, shipping, logistics and compliance
  • Collaborate with executive and senior management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives as related to manufacturing, logistics, customer order fulfillment, distribution
  • Plan, direct and implement annual and seasonal manufacturing plan to our overseas facility
  • Work in partnership with factory to balance workload with targeted on-time deliveries
  • Accountable to distribute status reports and key communications to all Sales Directors on delivery status and delivery issues
  • Responsible and accountable for the efficient operation of its departmental procedures and processes
  • Develop department initiatives identifying competitive strategies and evaluate, adjust or redraft the organization's supply chain programs accordingly ensuring thorough communication of imperatives and action items to the team

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 14+ years of experience in apparel or consumer goods industry and 8 + years of supervisory or management experience, possessing a broad supply management experience in progressively senior positions
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems; BlueCherry knowledge a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Solid understanding of operations and all business functions
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate others to achieve results
  • Ability to make decisions based on sound business reasoning and manage changing situations effectively, and interact effectively with all levels of the organization and cross-functional departments
  • Strong critical thinking/analytical skills, and demonstrates ability to determine root cause findings, take corrective actions, and problem-solving skills
  • Mandarin/Cantonese speaking a plus but not required
