The VP Accounting/Controller will be directly responsible for leading the Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Operations (AP/AR/Payroll), Treasury and Tax functions. Additionally, this key executive will provide information to, and actively participate/collaborate on activities with the following Finance functions: International Finance and FP&A.

This role is best suited for an “operational” person, who can set and implement policies and processes, and has a strong fundamental base in US GAAP. He/she will be a leader, and an execution-oriented change agent – as the team’s existing processes and procedures will evolve over time. He/she will be responsible for innovating, implementing and overseeing the following processes: financial close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and other special projects. He/she will also be responsible for developing Accounting best practices for processes and procedures as well as for driving other general efficiencies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage core accounting functions including but not limited to financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and various special analyses
  • Develop and manage standard operating procedures for the department including a documented system of accounting policies and operations
  • Monitor cash and funding balances. Partner with FP&A to accurately forecast cash position
  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding A/R balances
  • Manage payments of all accounts including the optimization of the flow of payables
  • Liaise with external audits to ensure timely completion of tax filings
  • Represent accounting department in implementation of new ERP system including the upgrade of existing ERP Bluecherry and accounting system Microsoft SL(Solomon)
  • Represent accounting department in new product costing system including variance analyses to standard cost
  • Partner with Supply Chain to provide timely and accurate processes for inventory valuation
  • Collaborate with FP&A on developing and maintaining detail chart of accounts that supports management reporting needs
  • Provides management leadership and build, develop and maintain an efficient staff of financial professionals
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and Company policies

 

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Outstanding record of accomplishment as a financial executive
  • Experience in retail/apparel/consumer goods strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics/SL/365 required / strongly preferred
